Crisis & Support Resources

If you need help right now

If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

The resources below cover a range of situations, from active crises to moments when you just need someone to talk to. We’ve grouped them by the kind of support they offer, since a 24/7 crisis line and a peer warmline serve different needs.

In an active crisis

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

Call or text 988, or chat online at 988lifeline.org. Available 24/7 for suicidal, mental health, or substance use crises. Note: 988 responders can send emergency services to your location if they believe you’re at imminent risk of harming yourself or someone else — they don’t need your consent to do this.

LA County Mental Health Access Line - 1-800-854-7771

Available 24/7. Connects you to a county crisis evaluation team that can come to you. Law enforcement is brought in only if the clinicians’ risk assessment calls for it.

If you call 911, you can ask specifically for the fire department or a mental health–trained unit, where one is available.
